Why isn't this a flat per-device rate?▾
Two cameras in a one-bedroom apartment is a 90-minute visit. Two cameras across a 3-story house with Wi-Fi dead spots can be a half day. We price the package, not the device count, so the labor and signal work get accounted for honestly. If you only need a single install, call us — we'll quote it as a one-off, no package required.
Do I supply the equipment or do you?▾
Either way works. If you bring the gear (Ring, Eufy, Nest, Hue, etc.), labor stays the same and you skip our markup. If we source it, we add it to the quote at our cost plus a flat handling fee — we don't mark up hardware. We'll tell you before install day if something you bought won't work well for your situation.
Is travel included?▾
Yes, within the Portland metro service area (Portland, Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard, Lake Oswego, Tualatin, Gresham, West Linn, Milwaukie, Oregon City, Sherwood, Wilsonville, Happy Valley). Outside that ring we add a flat travel fee, quoted up front — no surprise mileage charges on the invoice.
What if I need to add devices mid-job?▾
Scope creep happens — we plan for it. If you decide on-site to add another camera or a smart switch, we'll quote the addition before we touch it and either roll it into the visit or schedule a follow-up. You approve the new number; nothing gets installed that you haven't priced.
Why no hardwired or low-voltage line-voltage work?▾
We're not a CCB-licensed electrical contractor yet, so we stay on the right side of Oregon law. Battery, plug-in, PoE, and low-voltage runs (Ethernet, doorbell wire, speaker wire) are all in scope and cover ~90% of what most Portland homes need. If your project genuinely needs hardwired line-voltage work, we'll refer you to a licensed electrician and finish the smart-side configuration after they wrap.
